Cookware set and knife block

I purchased the Anolon Accolade 10-Piece Cookware Set and a 5-piece Kitchen Knife Block recently. The cookware set arrived well-packaged, everything was secure. Delivery took about 6 days, which was reasonable. I had a question about cleaning the hard-anodised surface, and customer support replied to my email within 24 hours with clear instructions, which was helpful. The knives feel balanced in hand, especially the Chef Knife, and they're quite sharp. The non-stick pans heat evenly and food hasn't stuck at all, even without much oil. My old pans always had hot spots. Cleaning is a breeze, though I handwash them to preserve the non-stick. Overall, a solid upgrade for my kitchen.

Great frying pan!

I ordered the Anolon Advanced Hard-Anodised Non-Stick 10-Inch Frying Pan and it's fantastic! Cooked eggs perfectly, truly non-stick. Shipping was pretty quick, got it in about 4 days to my place. I'll definitely be getting more pieces from them soon!

Are Anolon pans oven safe? Thinking of getting a new roasting pan.

O OvenGuru 3 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
Most of their stuff is, but check the product description for the specific temp rating. Some handles might be different.

Good point about the handles.

My hard-anodised ones are fine up to 200C.

My stockpot is oven safe, but I haven't really tested it at super high temps.

T TempTester 3 weeks ago
Yeah, usually it's around 180-230C depending on the line.

Thinking of getting a knife block set, are Anolon knives any good?

S SliceMaster 1 week ago ✓ Best Answer
I have their chef's knife and it's surprisingly decent for the price. Holds an edge well enough.

Yeah, good starter set if you're not going Wusthof prices.

Better than cheap supermarket knives for sure.

I bought a Santoku from them and it's become my go-to. Not top-tier but solid for home cooking.

hey, anyone know if anolon pans are actually dishwasher safe? saw conflicting info somewhere and don't wanna ruin a new set.

S Sophie A. 2 months ago
Nah, I wouldn't risk it for the non-stick ones. Hand wash for sure, they last way longer that way. Plus, it's not that hard.

N Nina Y. 2 months ago
Some of their stuff is, I think? But for the hard-anodised non-stick, definitely hand wash. That's what they recommend to keep the coating good. I usually just give mine a quick wipe down.

Thinking of getting a big cookware set. Does Anolon ever do like, really good sales? Waiting for a discount if possible.

D Daisy 2 months ago
Yeah, they totally do! Keep an eye out for Black Friday or Boxing Day, that's when I usually see their best deals. Sometimes up to 50% off on discontinued lines or bundles.

You can usually get 10% off just for signing up for their newsletter, which isn't bad for a first purchase. But for the big discounts, definitely check around EOFY or Click Frenzy.

Is Anolon hard-anodised cookware really safe? Heard some conflicting stuff.

S ScienceCook 1 week ago ✓ Best Answer
Yes, hard-anodised aluminium is generally considered very safe. It's an electrochemical process that makes it super durable and non-reactive.
12
C ChemKitchen 1 week ago
And it's not the same as regular aluminium contact with food.

D DuraChef 1 week ago
My set has lasted years with no issues.

S ScratchProof 1 week ago
As long as you're not scratching the non-stick coating off, you're fine. It's a really tough surface.

Is Anolon really PFOA free? Saw that question on Google.

E EcoEats 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Yes, pretty sure they advertise all their non-stick as PFOA free now. It's a standard thing for good brands.

My older pans might not be, but anything new definitely is. They've changed their formulations over time.
